Conducting Evaluations

Step-by-step guide to conducting competency evaluations.

Competency evaluations are conducted by supervisors or administrators to assess whether a DSP has demonstrated the skills required by DBHDS. Follow these steps to complete an evaluation in TrainingHub.

Steps to Conduct an Evaluation

  1. Go to Training > Evaluations in your dashboard.
  2. Select the staff member you want to evaluate from the list.
  3. Choose the evaluation template --- select the DBHDS competency evaluation template (or whichever template applies).
  4. Rate each competency domain using one of three ratings:
    • Competent --- the staff member consistently demonstrates this skill
    • Needs Improvement --- the staff member shows some proficiency but requires further development
    • Not Observed --- you have not had the opportunity to observe this skill during the evaluation period
  5. Add notes for any domain where additional context is helpful. Notes are optional but encouraged for any "Needs Improvement" ratings.
  6. Submit the evaluation when all domains have been rated.

After Submission

Once submitted, the evaluation is recorded with the date and the name of the evaluator. The staff member's full evaluation history is retained for audit and compliance purposes.

Evaluations cannot be edited after submission to preserve the integrity of the record. If a correction is needed, contact your account administrator.
